Grant Application Processing App
ECF runs an application cycle for climate initiative grants a few times during a year. This application manages the entire application process online. From application submission, assessment, review, comments, ratings, approvals, intimations to emails and notifications everything is managed by the ECF team on this platform.
Challenges
ECF was established in early 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to promote climate and energy policies that greatly reduce Europe’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and to help Europe play an even stronger international leadership role to mitigate climate change. The ECF runs an application cycle a few times during a year and required an application to manage the entire application process online. This required several functions to cover application submission, assessment, review, comments, rating, approvals, intimations, emails, notifications, etc.
Solution
The VF team conducted a thorough analysis and assessment process to develop a scalable DB architecture. All working flows for front-end user interactions were developed in terms of wireframes. Upon approval, the design team produced the actual front-end which was integrated within the content management system. Several controls were implemented in the system along with an access control layer for different users. Typical interfaces included applicants, reviewers, foundation, and admin.
